Konecranes is a company specialising in the manufacture of and service of cranes and lifting equipment. It produces about one in ten of the world’s cranes. Historically one of Finland’s oldest companies.
At Konecranes I was part of the continuous development team, working with the client stakeholders and developers to incrementally improve the UI and UX of the site but also one off campaign website for new cranes launches and its partnership with Valtteri Bottas.
The UX improvements for the Konecranes website ranged from small elements, like CTA improvements, to having different heights for hero modules to allow the page to be seen on smaller screens.
One of the more interesting projects I had was integrating the Chat function and Contact Us form. A critical element for the chat function to be usable was that the user had selected the right cookie options. With the client, we worked on the optimal user journey and experience to guide them to change the cookie function to allow chat to work.
A week after the integration and implementation, a lead came through the chat function and resulted in a €6 million deal.
These were one off, either stand alone or hosted on konecranes.com, websites that were used to promote new crane launches and, for a time, their partnership with Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas.
These websites were purely informative and aimed at promoting the unique features and services that Konecranes have to offer.
